APITURE
WEBSITE REBUILD
PROCESS
UX/IA
As with all of our projects, we began with an in-depth journey into user experience and site architecture. While most of our projects rely on us to streamline or cull content, the original site was fairly small in terms of page count. Therefore, we worked closely with the Apiture team to identify new pages and a new sitemap that both neatly organized their solutions and allowed for keyword-rich copywriting to bolster SEO.
While the original site utilized WordPress, Apiture’s team was locked into predefined templates that made adding new content to the site slow and cumbersome. The wireframes for the new site introduced a modular system in which Apiture can now expand and evolve the site quickly over time.
Design
With the new wireframes and sitemap approved, we began with Conceptual Designs - two unique concepts to be exact - that showcased high-level look and feel for a new homepage and one internal page.
Once a direction was chosen, we moved to “detailed design” in which any remaining blocks or templates were comped for approval.
Desktop and mobile comps were produced for both phases to ensure elements scaled appropriately between breakpoints.
Development & Launch
As mentioned above, we always recommend a modular approach to page-building to allow for maximum flexibility. Combined with Gutenberg’s existing library of basic page-building blocks, the custom blocks produced during our design phase can be inserted and rearranged on pages and posts at will.
A staging site was produced to allow for content entry and functional QA well ahead of a formal launch. After a few rounds of revision and review with Apiture’s stakeholder team, we successfully launched the site in February of 2022.
